Estate Planning & Probate

Our Estate Planning & Probate practice involves all aspects of wills and trusts; estate, gift and income tax planning; as well as asset protection, probate and trust administration.

There are so many variables in life which require unique planning in this area of law. Our practice involves detailed interviews with clients to plan for their unique circumstances, and designing creative, effective plans to best serve each client's needs.

While proper estate planning is always important, it is especially so when a closely-held business is involved. Appropriate planning will ensure the survival of the business upon an owner's death as well as provide a financial resource for surviving family members. Minor children, second marriages, and the possibility of long-term care needs are also critical factors in our planning.

In addition to your will or trust, we also prepare Financial and Medical Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. These documents, which govern situations while a client is alive but unable to speak competently for him or herself, are as important as having a valid will. In our meetings with clients, it is often stories of caring for mom and dad through an illness that resonates with them even more strongly than our planning for the transfer of assets upon their death.
